He watched the target, a hologram of a generic man holding a rifle, ripple as a breeze from a nearby vent went through it. It seemed like forever but it hadn't even been ten seconds since he had chosen his side arm and lined up. A small motion grabbed his attention from one side, a slight tightening in the officers arm. It was coming. Focusing upon the target, Damien got ready to shoot.
"Now you have your scenario...this target has just walked in upon you, finding you in an area that is restricted....on my mark....Fire!."
As the officer spoke though Damiens brow furrowed as he listened. In the last few split seconds, he adjusted his aim slightly, taking the pistol away from where the mans heart would have been and instead aiming it at his wrist that was held near the rifle trigger. When the sound of everyone elses pistols went off just once, Damien's went off a total of three times, the sound echoing. A few turned to look at him curiously, not understanding, although Damien himself smiled at the holograms reaction.
The 'flesh' of the holograms body changed colour to indicate where they were shot, some had their heads glowing a dark red to indicate a kill shot, yellow to indicate an incapacitating shot and green for a non-hindering wound. The different colours were spread out through all of the holograms but Damiens had three yellow blobs on it, one of each wrist and another in one of the thigh. He felt a heavy hand on his shoulder and he turned to look at the officer, who was looking at a small card.
"Damien Edramo, age twenty two, home world of Dantooine. Tell me Edramo, why did you not kill your target...a shot to the head perhaps?"
Damien turned and didn't miss a beat.
"Sir, a kill shot to the head would more than likely cause a mess that would need to be cleaned up. A shot to each wrist removes any chance of a threat and the thigh shot incapacitates with pain as well as removes chance of escape. This leaves the target up for interrogation or even removal to a better area where they can be deal with if they have no information or use."
The Officer looked at him appraisingly and nodded his head slightly in approval.
